March 10, (THEWILL) – Ten Opposition political parties in Cross River State, under the Coalition of Opposition Political Parties, have endorsed the ambition of Professor Sandy Onor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in the state.
The parties include the Action Democratic Congress (ADC), Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Action Alliance (AA), Allied People’s Movement (APM), Accord Party (AP), African Democratic Party (ADP) and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Pastor Ntami Esege, Chairman of APM, who signed the release by COPP, said they arrived at the decision after careful assessment of all candidates.
He added that their choice is based on Professor Onor’s competence, capacity and character.
He said their decision is also based on what the state has been through and their resolve to support someone with the right credentials.
“The chairmen of political parties under the aegis of the Coalition of Opposition Parties (COPPS), Cross River State Chapter, formally adopts and endorse Ntufam Senator Professor Sandy Onor, candidate of the PDP, for the position of governor in the March 18, 2023 election.
“We arrived at this decision after a careful assessment of all the candidates with focus on competence, capacity and character.
“Conscious of what the state has gone through in the last eight years, we unanimously resolved to support a man with the right credentials to lead the state to an enviable height”, he said.
Earlier in the week, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Cross River State Chapter, under the leadership of Dr Lawrence Ekwok, also endorsed Prof. Onor’s gubernatorial ambition.
