November 14, (THEWILL) – House of Reps member representing Calabar Municipal and Odukpani Federal Constituency in the national assembly, Hon. Eta Mbora, has commissioned three Ultramodern Classroom Blocks at Dan Archibong Memorial Secondary School, Usung Esuk, in Odukpani, Southern Cross River State.
The project comes with electrical appliances as well as furniture and VIP toilets.
Hon. Mbora said the classroom blocks and staff room were undertaken in furtherance of his avowed commitment towards ensuring a conducive learning atmosphere in public schools within his constituency.
In his words, “these projects are in line with my pledge to provide basic amenities and infrastructures needed to boost literacy rate in order to drive the economic development aspirations of our people in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals”
“I will continue to accord priority to education given the fact that it remains the bedrock of a bright and prosperous future for our children, who are the future leaders.
“This new classroom block along with the staff office complex marks the fulfilment of my electioneering promise.
“It is also a testament that in PDP, we keep our promises, we shall do more if you give us your massive support to reclaim our state and country”, Hon. Mbora said.
In his remark, the Village Head of Usung Esuk Odot, High Chief Edet Eyamba, said posterity will never forget the facilitator of the project for the monumental gesture, which he noted has given them a sense of belonging after years of being neglected.
“Hon. Mbora has done what the people of Usung Esuk and even future generations will not forget.
“He has provided this project in record time and this has alleviated the plight faced by our children in accessing basic education”, the traditional ruler said.
The principal of the school, Pastor Ivi Okwe, commended the lawmaker for his burning passion for the well-being of his constituents.
He promised that the purpose of the building will positively manifest in the children as well as the host community.
Princess Itam Bassey also thanked the lawmaker for facilitating the school project which the community started over three decades ago.
She said, with this new classroom block, access to basic education has been expanded and will rub off on their children.
