March 24, (THEWILL) – A gubernatorial hopeful in Cross River State and president of Coco Bassey Foundation, Mkpang Coco Bassey, says Cross River State needs leaders who keep promises.

Coco Bassey disclosed this at the PDP Secretariat while formally declaring his intention to join the 2023 Guber race in Cross River State.

He disclosed that he knows the challenges the state faces and is prepared to address it.

In his words, “Cross River State is blessed with huge potentials, but needs the right leadership.

“We need leaders who can keep their promises.

“We also need leaders who are accessible and will not play politics with the future of our children”, he said.

On his development agenda for the state, he said it will be built around AHEAD.

This he explained means Action, Hope, Empowerment, Altitude  and Development.

He said his actions will ensure the unity of the state, he will rekindle hope in the people and create sustainable empowerment.

He also disclosed that he is not afraid of altitude. Hence, is prepared to take the state to the height it is supposed to be  and also develop all sectors of the states economy.

On his part, the deputy chairman of the state PDP, Dennis Nkiri, said the PDP is very straight forward and will not impose anyone on the electorate.

He said Mkpang Coco Bassey came at the right time and assured that all aspirants will participate in the process.

Mkpang Coco Bassey is a Scottish born Engineer with specialty in Control System Engineering.

He is also the President of the Calabar Efik Forum in the United Kingdom.
