Remi Tinubu your mama

March 28, (THEWILL) – Delta State College of Nursing Sciences, Agbor, has withdrawn the disciplinary query issued to student nurse Osato Edobor over a viral video recorded during the visit of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to the school.

The incident occurred on March 25, 2025, during the Renewed Hope Initiative Health Programme, where the First Lady distributed 10,000 professional kits to midwives in the South-South zone.

In the video, the event’s MC was heard singing, “Na our mama be this oo, we no get another one,” to which students responded, “Na your mama be this oo eeh.”

The clip, which Edobor reportedly posted on her TikTok page, quickly gained traction online.

Following the video’s circulation, the school management, in a letter signed by Provost Evbodaghe Rita Ogonne, accused Edobor of engaging in a “malicious act” by recording and posting an unofficial response to the song.

Citing a breach of the student handbook, the institution demanded an explanation within 24 hours on why disciplinary action should not be taken against her.

However, in a letter dated March 28, 2025, the school rescinded its decision after widespread backlash.

The reversal followed a directive from the Delta State Commissioner for Health, Joseph Onojaeme, instructing the college to withdraw the query.

“The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, in his magnanimity, has directed the school authority to withdraw the query issued to you on the 27th of March, 2025,” the letter read.

The school management further asked Edobor to return the query letter through the student affairs office, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused.
