June 28, (THEWILL) — Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has commiserated with the Government and people of Kano State over the passing of renowned industrialist and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata.

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Jibrin described the deceased as a statesman and business icon whose contributions to national development remain unparalleled.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un (From Allah we came and to Him we shall return). I mourn the passing of our father, elder statesman, and philanthropist, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who died on Saturday,” the statement read.

It added: “He devoted his life to the worship of Allah and service to humanity. I extend my deepest condolences to his immediate family, the Kano business community, and the entire people of Kano State.

“His impact on commerce, construction, real estate, banking, oil and gas, and philanthropy continues to speak volumes. He was a symbol of integrity and an enduring inspiration to generations of entrepreneurs.”

Senator Jibrin prayed for the repose of the late patriarch’s soul and for strength for his family and associates to bear the loss.

Alhaji Aminu Dantata died on Saturday at the age of 94 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, after a brief illness. He is to be buried same day, with the Salatul Ga’ib (funeral prayer in absentia) scheduled for 2 p.m. at Umar Bin Khaddab Mosque, Gyadi-Gyadi, Kano.
