DHQ Confirms Terrorists Attack On Military Camp In Borno, Says Five Soldiers Killed, Four Others Missing In Action

November 20, (THEWILL) – The Defence Headquarters says at least 5 soldiers have been killed and four others missing, following a terrorist attack on a military camp in Kareto town, Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.

Director of Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters, Major General Edward Buba, who confirmed the attack, said the soldiers were deployed at the stabilisation operations pro-force and defence site.

He confirmed that “the coordinated attack saw five soldiers killed in action, 10 wounded and four missing in action, while troops eliminated several terrorists, as well as recovered weapons.”

The statement added that some equipment including one gun truck, three TCVs and an excavator were burnt by the enemy forces.

According to the DHQ, a reinforcement team with air components, was dispatched to exploit the general area and the terrorists’ withdrawal route.
