October 09, (THEWILL) — The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced plans to conduct a Route March Exercise involving personnel of the Armed Forces and other security agencies in Abuja on Friday.

In a statement on Thursday, the Director of Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau, said the exercise will commence at 5:00 a.m., beginning from the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment football field through Mambilla Barracks and back to the cantonment via Niger Barracks.

According to Gusau, the route march is a routine physical fitness activity aimed at strengthening synergy among security agencies, enhancing physical readiness, and fostering esprit de corps among participants.

He urged residents, especially road users around the Asokoro–AYA axis, to note possible diversions and comply with traffic directives from officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other relevant agencies who will be deployed to manage movement.

While expressing regrets over any inconvenience the exercise may cause, the DHQ appealed for public understanding and cooperation.
