April 11, (THEWILL) – The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to disregard a list of ambassadorial nominees currently circulating on social media.
The Acting Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, declared the list as misleading and fake.
Ebienfa, who refuted reports that some nominees were already undergoing security screening, said no official nominations have been made.
“Kindly disregard the frenzy about the ambassadorial list. Be rest assured that, when it is ready, Mr President will transmit the list of nominees to the National Assembly for screening and confirmation”, Ebienfa told diplomatic correspondents in Abuja, adding that the appointment of ambassadors remains the exclusive prerogative of President Bola Tinubu.
