
February 14, (THEWILL) – Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State has been sworn in for a second term in office.
THEWILL reports that Diri took his oath of office at about 1:58 pm on Wednesday, at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Matilda Ayemieye, administered oaths of office to the Governor and his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
Among the notable personalities in attendance were Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, alongside his wife, Patience Jonathan.
Also present was the Vice President of Liberia, Jeremiah Koung, alongside several Governors from various states, including Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, and Godwin Obaseki of Edo.
The event was further graced by former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki and Adolphus Wabara, who currently serves as the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, along with other national and state leaders of the party.
