June 6 (THEWILL) — Jands Travel Business School has announced plans for the 3rd Domestic Tourism Festival (DTF 2026), a three-day event to promote collaboration, innovation and sustainable growth in Nigeria’s tourism sector.
The festival is scheduled to be held from September 4 to 6, 2026, at the Amadeo Event Centre, Enugu, and is expected to attract stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality value chain, including investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, travel professionals, students, exhibitors and cultural enthusiasts.
Organisers said the event is designed to provide a platform for discussions on the development of domestic tourism and the opportunities it presents for economic growth, job creation and cultural preservation.
The programme will feature exhibitions, networking sessions, cultural showcases and industry engagements intended to foster partnerships and encourage investment in Nigeria’s tourism ecosystem.
Mrs Chioma Obi, Director of Jands Travel Business School and General Secretary of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA), Eastern Zone, said the festival reflects the institution’s commitment to advancing tourism education and promoting Nigeria’s rich cultural and tourism assets.
According to her, strengthening domestic tourism requires collaboration among industry stakeholders, government institutions and local communities to create sustainable opportunities and improve the sector’s contribution to national development.
She noted that the festival will bring together professionals and aspiring practitioners to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends and identify practical solutions for the growth of the industry.
Participation in the event is open to tourism and hospitality practitioners, investors, business owners, students and members of the public interested in the development of Nigeria’s domestic tourism sector.
Admission to the festival is free, while registration is ongoing for participants, exhibitors and sponsors.
The Domestic Tourism Festival continues to serve as a platform to promote local destinations, encourage industry partnerships and showcase the potential of tourism as a catalyst for economic and community development in Nigeria.
