December 5, (THEWILL) – The Executive Chairman of Ivo Local Government Area, Honorable Ajah Emmanuel, has restated his support to the building of Assemblies of God Church, Nduzi Ihie, Ishiagu in Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Ajah, who made his financial support to the church during a recent thanksgiving service in honour of his late sister, called on Christians to live a Christ-like life.
He explained that Christianity is all about the impact one makes on the lives of others, by showing commitment to those in need.
The Council Chairman, who further demonstrated his willingness to give the church a facelift made a financial commitment of five hundred thousand naira while assuring the members that he would continue to support them.
“I am happy to be in your midst today to tell you how happy I am with you people. I am here to show appreciation to God for making the burial of my elder sister to be a successful one. My elder sister was the pillar of the family. There is no one in the family who would say he has not benefited from her, but today she is no more. But in all things we thank God.
“She is dead today, but she would only be remembered for what she did while she was alive. Christianity is not about the church, but it is all about what we have in our hearts. It is all about how many people you have made an impact in his or her life. Have you asked yourself how you can help those who are sick, those who are in need? Those who are hungry and those who need clothing. It is when you can do all these that you can be convinced that you are a Christian.
“I am very happy to be in this church again. I know how we started this church and how we procured this land. The day they were preparing to start clearing this land where the church is now I was aware of everything.
“So we have to come together to make sure that we do whatever is possible to build this church to be a befitting place for God. I know that we can do it and I will support you people to make sure that this church is built”, he stated.
