June 05, (THEWILL) – The President of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, has tasked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to immediately fix the security challenges of Nigeria if his efforts in other sectors are going to yield the desired dividend of national growth.
The ECWA President, Rev Dr Stephen Baba Panya, who said ensuring adequate national security will have positive chain effects on other subsectors of the national economy, was speaking during the installation/send off ceremony to mark the end of the tenure of Rev Dr Yunusa S. Nmadu Jnr, as the ECWA General Secretary and the beginning of tenure for Rev Ayuba Asheshe, as the new General Secretary of the Church.
The ECWA President maintained, however, that in setting agenda for the new President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, it is important to emphasise an anti-corruption policy, because, like insecurity, corruption has had a toll on several national policies, programmes and initiatives, with the unfortunate implication that national development has remained perpetually at the receiving end.
In his remarks, the immediate past General Secretary, Rev Dr Yunusa S Nmadu Jnr, said his tenure in the day-to-day affairs and running of the Church was a worthwhile experience, which has also brought him spiritual fulfilment as a servant in God’s vineyard.
The newly installed General Secretary, Rev Ayuba Asheshe, expressed gratitude to the ECWA family for finding him worthy for the elevation and trust, and promised to put in his best to see to the growth of the Church and the task of evangelism and winning more souls in more nations.
