February 20, (THEWILL) – The Edo State House of Assembly has sacked all political appointees attached to its members, with immediate effect.
The affected aides include Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants among others.
Speaker Blessing Agbebaku announced the decision during plenary on Wednesday, stating that the move was a collective resolution of the House.
“Upon resumption, members nominated individuals from their constituencies for appointment as aides. Now, after nearly two years, the House has agreed that all SAs and SSAs be relieved of their positions as of today, February 19, 2025.
“We will meet subsequently to determine the next course of action. They will receive their salaries for the month of February,” Agbebaku said.
