Edo Governor-elect Okpebholo, Deputy Receive INEC Certificate Of Return

September 26, (THEWILL) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued certificates of return to Edo State Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, and his Deputy, Dennis Idahosa.

The INEC National Commissioner for Edo State, Rhoda Gumus, presented the certificates on behalf of the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, in Abuja on Thursday.

They were accompanied to the INEC headquarters by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje; National Secretary, Senator Bashiru Ajibola; Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, Engr. Abubakar Momoh; Senator Adams Oshiomhole and the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Phillip Shuaibu, among others.

The INEC Returning Officer for the Edo Governorship election and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruq Kuta, on Sunday, declared Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the tightly contested election held on Saturday, September 21.
