EFCC Denies Bandit Abduction Claims, Clarifies Raid At Niger Hotel

March 03, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has dismissed reports of a bandit attack at White Hotel on Shiroro Road in Chanchaga Local Government Area of Niger State. In a statement released on Sunday, the agency confirmed that its operatives conducted a raid last Thursday, resulting in the arrest of 11 suspected internet fraudsters.

The commission refuted claims circulating on social media that gunmen, disguised as EFCC officers, abducted 10 persons from the hotel. Instead, the statement emphasized that the arrests were made in broad daylight, following credible intelligence linking the suspects to fraudulent internet activities.

Recovered items included two vehicles and 13 mobile phones of various brands. Officials stressed that the operation was carried out professionally and without any form of abduction, adding that the suspects would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
