April 07, (THEWILL) — The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Mohammed Usman Zuru, has passed away, marking the end of a distinguished legislative career and leaving behind a legacy of dedicated public service in Kebbi State.

THEWILL reports that Zuru died at an hospital in Egypt, where he had been undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness.

The sad news was confirmed on Tuesday by his aide, Murtala Diri, in an official statement, which disclosed that the Speaker died on Monday evening while receiving medical treatment in Cairo, Egypt.

Until his death, Zuru represented Zuru Constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly and served as Speaker of the 10th Assembly, where he was widely regarded as a steady and influential leader within the state’s legislative arm.
