A total of 20 equities appreciated in price during the week, lower than 29 in the previous week, while 75 equities declined compared to 70 last week. 51 equities remained unchanged, slightly higher than 47 recorded in the prior week.
Market analysts attributed the bearish tone to investors’ cautious positioning, persistent inflationary pressures, and expectations of further monetary tightening.
Looking ahead, market sentiment is expected to remain mixed in the coming week, with opportunities for bargain hunting in fundamentally sound stocks. It is predicted that short-term rebounds may emerge, though sustained gains will depend on improving macroeconomic indicators and renewed investor confidence.
