ETP Market
A total of 210,164 units valued at N225.125 million were traded this week in 42 deals, compared with 410,186 units valued at N443.071 million traded last week in 54 deals.
Investor sentiment this week was mildly positive, supported by bargain-hunting in mid-cap counters and sustained interest in healthcare, industrial goods and ICT stocks. The upward movement in the ASI despite lower turnover suggests cautious optimism, with investors selectively positioning ahead of year-end portfolio adjustments.
However, weakness in banking and oil & gas indices indicates lingering concerns around system liquidity, interest-rate pressures, and corporate earnings expectations.
The market is expected to trade mixed with a positive bias, driven by continued positioning for full-year results and dividend expectations.
Stronger activity may return if liquidity conditions improve, while profit-taking could limit upside in recently rallied stocks. Investors will likely continue to focus on large-cap stability stocks and sectors resilient to interest rate fluctuations.
