May 12, (THEWILL) – Wale Oluwo, an associate of a former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has joined the race for the governorship election of Lagos State in the 2023 general elections.
Oluwo, THEWILL learnt, obtained and submitted his N50m governorship form to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Oluwo, who is the chairman of the Akinwunmi Ambode Campaign Organisation (AMCO), was the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources during Ambode’s tenure as governor.
Despite the endorsement of the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu by the highest decision-making organ of the APC in the state, Governance Advisory Council (GAC), AMCO has vowed to challenge the incumbent governor at the party’s primaries.
Oluwo faulted GAC for endorsing Sanwo-Olu, saying its stance was not a true reflection of APC members.
The APC aspirant vowed to defeat the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the APC governorship primary election later this month.
