January 08, (THEWILL) – The immediate-past Minister of Social Development, Disaster Management and Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar-Farouk, has honoured the invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged fraud.
THEWILL reports that Umar-Farouk arrived at the Headquarters of the anti-graft agency in Abuja at about 10 am on Monday, January 8.
The former minister confirmed the development in a post on her X page.
“I have, at my behest, arrived at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour the invitation by the anti-graft agency to offer clarifications in respect of some issues that the Commission is investigating,” she wrote.
Her invitation, THEWILL learnt, is related to an ongoing investigation into the N37,170,855,753.44 allegedly laundered during her time in office through a contractor identified as James Okwete.
