
March 23, (THEWILL) – Another explosion has reportedly hit a gas facility in Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The blast, accompanied by fireballs, reportedly occurred on Sunday morning at Soku oil, a facility operated by Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited.
The Executive Director of Youths and Environmental Advocacy Centre (YEAC-Nigeria), Fyneface Dumnamene Fyneface, who confirmed the incident, said he received the report from its youth volunteers.
Although the cause of the explosion remains uncertain. The latest explosion followed a similar incident on Monday night at the Trans-Niger Pipeline, in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area.
Authorities in the State, including the Rivers Police Command have not issued any statement on the incident.
