June 20, (THEWILL) – The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed the visa application centres for France, Belgium, and Italy in Abuja, over alleged consumer rights violations and obstruction of investigation.
Operated by TLS Contact at Mukhtar El-Yakub House, the centres were shut after the company failed to respond to a formal complaint letter issued by the FCCPC on March 25, 2025.
According to the Commission, TLS officials allegedly assaulted FCCPC investigators and their police escorts during a follow-up visit.
Consequently, the commission declared TLS liable for any losses suffered by visa applicants due to the enforcement action.
Senior company executives, including the country and centre managers, have been summoned to appear before the FCCPC on June 20, to testify and provide relevant documents.
The FCCPC warned that failure to comply could result in fines up to N20 million or three years’ imprisonment, or both.
It also urged affected applicants to submit evidence of poor service and reaffirmed its commitment to protect Nigerian consumers from abusive service providers.
