SAN FRANCISCO, June 10, (THEWILL) – Roger Federer has stated that he would be out-of-action until 2021 after undergoing his second knee surgery.

The twenty-time Grand Slam singles champion took to his Twitter handle to announce this decision, saying that he needed a follow-up arthroscopic surgery “a few weeks ago” after undergoing a similar procedure in February. He also added that he “experienced a setback during (his) initial rehabilitation”.

He wrote: “I plan to take the necessary time to be 100 percent ready to play at my highest level.
