January 08, (THEWILL) – The Federal Government has decentralised the Nigerian College Of Aviation Technology (NCAT) in Zaria, Kaduna state, splitting its campuses into the six geopolitical zones in the country.
A statement shared on Wednesday, on the official X account of the Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the decision was aimed at ensuring efficiency, national coverage and smooth operations of the college.
“President Bola Tinubu has decided to split the Nigerian College Of Aviation Technology, Zaria – Kaduna state into six campuses to ensure efficiency, national coverage and smooth operations”, the post read, adding that the six campuses will be located in each geopolitical zone of Nigeria.
According to the post, the Nigerian College Of Aviation will have its campuses in Akure (Southwest), Osubi (South-South), Ebonyi (Southeast), Ilorin (North Central), Yola (NorthEast) and Zaria (NorthWest).
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, on June 20, 2024, dismissed speculations that the Federal Government planned to relocate the college’s fire simulator and other facilities elsewhere.
“There is nothing like that; if we do it, where are we going to take it? NCAT is the training hub for the aviation industry; mischief makers are spreading the rumour”, Keyamo said in Zaria after a familiarisation tour of the institution.
