August 08, (THEWILL) — The Federal Government has paid the second tranche of the outstanding N35,000 wage award arrears to its workers.
According to a statement by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, one month had earlier been paid out of the initial five months of outstanding arrears. With the latest payment, three tranches remain.
The office reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuing the payment in monthly instalments of N35,000 until the arrears are fully cleared.
