BEVERLY HILLS, June 13, (THEWILL) – World football governing body, FIFA, has again showered encomiums on the wonder goal scored by former Nigerian skipper Sunday Oliseh against Spain at the France 1998 World Cup.
Recalling Oliseh’s strike on its 22nd year-anniversary, FIFA shared a clip of the goal on the Federation’s Twitter handle with these words: “Sunday Oliseh scored an unforgettable sizzler of a goal for Nigeria Super Eagles On This Day to stun Spain at the 1998 World Cup”.
THEWILL recalls that Oliseh’s wonder strike which left goalkeeper, Andoni Zubizaretta startled, secured Nigeria’s 3-2 win against the Spaniards in the championship.
