SAN FRANCISCO, June 12, (THEWILL) – The world governing football body, FIFA, has stated that players will be allowed to play for up to three different clubs, instead of two, during the course of a season.
The body stated this in a statement stressing that the measure is temporary to curtail the effects of the coronavirus pandemic amongst teams.
It noted that the move was done “to avoid any concerns regarding unemployed players”.
FIFA also disclosed that it would allow national associations to open their transfer window for the 2020/2021 season before the end of the current campaign.
