June 19, (THEWILL) – In a move to redefine housing accessibility in Nigeria, IM Properties, a Real Estate trademark of IM Intercontinental Ltd, has launched its “Affordable Housing Project”, signaling a transformative step toward closing the region’s housing gap.
The project was launched during a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt, with the theme “A Paradigm Shift”, an initiative aimed at repositioning access to decent housing as a fundamental right, not a luxury.
Spearheaded by Engr. Chimezie Marcellinus, the Managing Director and CEO of IM Properties, the launch brought together a cross-section of stakeholders, including prospective home-owners, developers, government representatives, and civic leaders.
Participants were introduced to a diverse portfolio of housing models, including 3-bedroom and 4-bedroom duplexes, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom bungalows, designed to cater to different income levels while maintaining quality and structural integrity.
THEWILL learnt that over 100 prospective off-takers formally expressed interest in acquiring units, reflecting strong market reception and community endorsement.
Speaking during the event, Engr. Chimezie Marcellinus emphasised the human-centred philosophy behind the project:

The event also featured a high-level stakeholder forum, with contributions from respected voices including Prof. O.V. Olulu-Briggs, Mr Bright-Influence Igrubia, Pastor Wisdom Osiri, and Pastor Charles Collins, who explored technical and societal dimensions of affordable housing development in Nigeria.
A representative from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment reaffirmed the government’s support for the initiative, highlighting the role of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) in driving scalable, sustainable housing solutions across the country.
The company also disclosed plans for continued dialogue with the state governments to formalise implementation frameworks and secure logistical support.
The launch marks a pivotal step in IM Properties’ broader vision of delivering dignified, accessible housing options that are community-driven, economically viable, and socially inclusive.
Also, women emerged as notable early adopters of the scheme, a trend the company described as encouraging and reflective of grassroots momentum.
