June 08, (THEWILL) – A five-storey building, which was under construction, has collapsed in Abakaliki, Ebonyi Stat.
The collapsed building is located at Ngbabor, opposite the ever busy Presco Campus of Ebonyi State University.
THEWILL gathered that construction workers at the site jetted out of the building before it collapsed.
There was no life lost or any form of casualty as at press time.
The building was said to have collapsed around 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
When our reporter visited the scene of the incident, government officials were seen inspecting the collapsed building, apparently to find out what went wrong.
Some police officers and Ebubeagu operatives were seen trying to cordon off the collapsed building.
A resident said the construction workers at the site ran out of the building, as soon as the building started vibrating before it eventually collapsed.
One of the twin building was still standing, but government officials warned residents to stay away from the building as the  integrity of the structure is not known.
