April 22, (THEWILL)- Police in Kenya have arrested a fleeing top executive of the cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, Nadeem Anjarwalla, who escaped from lawful detention in Nigeria
THEWILL had reported that Anjarwalla escaped on Friday, March 22, from the Abuja guest house where he and his colleague, Tigran Gambaryan, a US citizen overseeing financial crime compliance at the crypto exchange platform were detained after guards on duty led him to a nearby mosque for prayers in the spirit of the ongoing Ramadan fast.
According to Kenyan Police Service sources, the 38-year-old British-Kenyan dual national, who is Binance’s Africa regional manager, is now facing extradition back to Nigeria after he was arrested late Sunday by the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL).
“Binance executive, Nadeem Anjarwalla, has been arrested by the Kenya Police Service, and he will be extradited to Nigeria this week by INTERPOL”, said a report by Punch.
