December 26, (THEWILL) — FLEX Pay has unveiled the FLEX Card, a prepaid solution designed to provide visitors to Nigeria with immediate access to funds.
The initiative aims to enable seamless spending across the country from the moment of arrival, bypassing the traditional hurdles of local banking.
The FLEX Card is specifically targeted at tourists, business travellers, and members of the diaspora.
Once activated and funded, the card can be used nationwide at any point-of-sale terminal or location where Verve cards are accepted.
According to FLEX Pay, the process is handled entirely online via a dedicated portal. Applicants provide basic details, including their name, email, phone number, and current location.
The service offers several delivery methods, including home delivery, office pickup, or airport pickup for immediate use upon landing.
After receiving the physical card, users must complete a brief identity verification process.
This includes taking a selfie and uploading a valid international passport or driver’s licence. Once approved, the user gains access to a personal digital wallet.
The FLEX Card is powered by a dedicated account hosted by VFD Microfinance Bank. Users can fund their wallets instantly using popular international remittance platforms such as LemFi, WorldRemit, NALA, and TapTapSend.
Initial funding starts from ₦100,000. At checkout, users select the Savings option on POS terminals and enter the PIN created during activation.
Users can also track their spending and recent transactions in real-time through the FLEX Pay platform.
For those travelling in groups or organising events, FLEX Pay offers the option to request physical cards in batches of five, 10, 20, or more.
Each recipient can independently activate and fund their own card, making it an ideal solution for event organisers and corporate travel teams.
