November 19, (THEWILL) — The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the recovery of the dismembered remains of its missing officer, SRC OO Lasisi (PIN C-06239).
In a statement on Wednesday, Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, said the Osun State Police Command recovered the body from a river near Iwoye-Ijesa on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The discovery was formally communicated to the FRSC Sector Commander on Tuesday, November 18, after a detailed briefing from the Police.
Ogungbemide described the incident as a “devastating and heartbreaking loss” for the Corps.
He commended the Nigeria Police Force for its coordinated investigative efforts and extended condolences to the deceased officer’s family.
He also prayed for the safe return of her missing child, who remains unaccounted for.
According to the Police, sustained surveillance, phone tracking, and intelligence operations led to the arrest of an herbalist in Iloko-Ijesa, who had initially fled the Iwoye-Ijesa area.
During interrogation, the suspect alleged that the officer was lured, killed, and dismembered by one “Victor” and other accomplices who are still at large.
He further alleged that Victor attempted to mislead investigators by abandoning his vehicle along the Gbongan–Ibadan expressway to create an impression of kidnapping.
The herbalist also claimed that Victor picked up the missing child from his residence. The child has yet to be found.
The recovered remains have been deposited at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital mortuary.
The Police have requested a post-mortem examination and DNA analysis to confirm identity.
The Corps has contacted the officer’s husband, who resides in the United States, to facilitate the required forensic processes.
