May 21, (THEWILL) — The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) has concluded arrangements for its 29th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the 9th edition of the Nigeria Tourism Investors Forum and Exhibition (NTIFE), scheduled to be held on July 30 and 31, 2026, in Abuja.
The event, themed “Tourism Transformation Through Collaboration, Policy Alignment and Investment”, is expected to bring together tourism stakeholders, investors, operators and policymakers to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality industry.
The programme will be held at the Monoliza Sport and Recreation Centre, Abuja, and will feature exhibitions, investment sessions, networking engagements and a food fair.
FTAN President, Dr Badaki Aliyu, said the association had intensified consultations and partnership engagements ahead of the event to ensure a successful outing.
As part of the preparations, Aliyu paid courtesy visits to the management of leading hotels in Lagos and Abuja to seek collaboration and support for the forum and exhibition.
He said the engagements were aimed at strengthening cooperation between international hotel brands operating in Nigeria and the organised private sector under FTAN to support the growth of the hospitality industry.
According to him, partnerships in areas such as training, participation in industry programmes and investment support remain critical to the development of the sector.
Aliyu noted that this year’s NTIFE was scheduled for July to avoid the industry’s usually congested November calendar.
He added that the 2026 edition would be bigger and more expansive, with activities designed to promote tourism investment opportunities and stakeholder engagement across the country.
The forum is expected to examine policy alignment, collaboration opportunities and investment strategies to reposition Nigeria’s tourism sector for sustainable growth and competitiveness.
