May 15, (THEWILL) – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Wednesday, led a high-powered delegation on condolence and sympathy visits to families of the bereaved and ailing individuals in Kano State.
Accompanied by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, the former Kano State governor paid a condolence visit to Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, the APC’s deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 general elections, over the death of his elder brother, Babangida Sule Garo.
The visit took place at the residence of the deceased in Gidan Kankara, within the Kano metropolis, where the delegation commiserated with the family and offered prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Babangida. They prayed to Allah to grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give the bereaved family the strength to bear the loss.
The delegation also paid a sympathy visit to a respected Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhammad AbdulWahab, who recently returned to the country after receiving medical treatment abroad. The cleric is said to have temporarily suspended his preaching and religious engagements due to his health condition.
Ganduje and Jibrin prayed for the Sheikh’s full recovery and expressed their solidarity with him in this trying period.
In his response, Sheikh AbdulWahab expressed gratitude for the visit, describing it as uplifting. He prayed for the wellbeing of the visitors and offered prayers for the unity, peace, and continued development of Nigeria.
The APC leaders, joined by top federal government officials and the Kano APC Chairman, Prince Abdullahi Abbas, also made similar visits to various locations including Koki, Gwammaja, Na’ibawa, and Kofar Mazugal, before returning to Abuja later in the day.
