November 07, (THEWILL) — Reports circulating that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have been officially dismissed as fake news.
The Governor’s Spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, speaking on Thursday, urged the general public to discountenance the rumour entirely. The denial comes in response to speculation making the rounds across various media platforms, suggesting the Governor was preparing to switch political affiliations.
The Governor remains committed to his mandate under the PDP platform and is focused on delivering his administration’s promises to the people of Osun State.
The statement reads in part, “Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the Osun State APC chairman that Governor Ademola Adeleke is negotiating with former Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, about joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
“The report is false, and the assertions by the opposition are mere fabrication and fake news.”
