January 30, (THEWILL) — Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, redeploying key commissioners and making strategic appointments aimed at strengthening governance, enhancing service delivery, and promoting efficiency in state administration.
A statement signed on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, said the reshuffle takes effect from January 30, 2026.
As part of the changes, Barr. Vincent Osas Uwadiae, the Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Lands and Housing, where he will serve as Commissioner.
Also, Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, JP, who previously served as Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed as Chief of Staff to the Governor, a role that will see him oversee coordination within the Governor’s Office.
In a related move, Gani Audu, the incumbent Chief of Staff to the Governor, has been nominated to resume his previous position as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.
The governor expressed confidence that the strategic adjustments would strengthen policy implementation, enhance coordination, and ensure more effective governance across Edo State.
The administration described the reshuffle as part of ongoing efforts to reposition the Edo State Executive Council for optimal performance and better service delivery to the people.
