December 12, (THEWILL) – Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has announced the appointment of chairmen and members for the state’s Civil Service Commission, Sharia Commission, and Zakkat and Hubsi Commission.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the governor exercised his constitutional authority to make the appointments in line with established procedures.
Those appointed, Bature said are, Engr. Ahmad Ishaq, Chairman, Civil Service Commission, with Alhaji Abdullahi Mahmoud Permanent Member I, and Ado Ahmed Mohammed, Permanent Member II.
For the state’s Sharia Commission, he said Sheikh Abbas Abubakar Daneji was appointed as Executive Chairman, with Mallam Hadi Gwani Dahiru as Permanent Commissioner I and Sheikh Ali Dan’Abba, Permanent Commissioner II, Mallam Adamu Ibrahim, Member, Mallam Abubakar Ibrahim Mai Ashafa, Member, Mallam Naziru Saminu Dorayi, Member.
Other members of the commission are Sheikh Kawu Aliyu Harazumi, Sheikh Mukhtar Mama, Sheikh Ibrahim Inuwa Limamin Ja’en, and Sheikh Dr. Sani Ashir who will also serve as Secretary.
The Zakkat and Hubsi Commission has Barr. Habibu Dan Almajiri as Executive Chairman, with Sheikh Nafiu Umar Harazumi as Permanent Commissioner I, Dr. Ali Quraish as Permanent Commissioner II, Mallam Abdullahi Sarkin Sharifai, Member and Mallam Adamu Muhammad Andawo as member.
Others, the statement said are, Mallam Yahaya Muhammad Kwana Hudu, Member, Sheikh Hassan Sani Kafinga, Member, Sheikh Arabi Tudun-Nufawa, Member, Mallam Sani Shariff Umar Bichi, Member, while the tenth position will be filled by CSC Secretary.
Yusuf emphasised that the appointments underscore his administration’s commitment to strengthening public institutions to meet the needs of Kano’s citizens.
He expressed confidence in the appointees’ qualifications, integrity, and dedication to effectively executing their mandates.
While congratulating the appointees, the governor urged them to work diligently to fulfill the expectations of both the government and the people of the state.
“This development reflects the administration’s unwavering resolve to promote accountability, transparency, and efficiency in public institutions,” the statement added.
