
January 06, (THEWILL) – Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has expressed profound sorrow over the death of a renowned businesswoman and socialite, Adebisi Edionseri.
Edionseri, who was fondly called ‘Cash Madam’ by her admirers, was, until her demise, the Iya Sunnah of Egba and Yewa in Ogun State.
She died of a brief illness on Sunday at the age of 89.
Edionseri’s entrepreneurship and socialite personality, came to prominence in the 70s, with her reputation for providing financial services and loans to individuals and businesses.
Abiodun, while reacting to her passing in a statement, said that her death was a significant loss to both the state and Nigeria, as a whole.
He lauded Edionseri’s contributions as an entrepreneur to the state, which have inspired some individuals to follow her steps.
He stressed that she achieved remarkable success at a young age, demonstrating resilience and ambition that have inspired many in the state and beyond.
“I, on behalf of myself and the people of Ogun State, express heartfelt condolences to the family of Alhaji (Chief) Adebisi Edionseri”, the governor said.
