
March 13, (THEWILL) – Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has approved the payment of N20,000 as a wage award for Niger state civil servants.
The development was announced on Wednesday, during the state Executive Council meeting held in Minna.
Recall that President Bola Tinubu, while in Niger State on Monday, appealed to Governors to implement payment of wage awards to workers until the negotiation for a new minimum wage is concluded.
Governor Bago, who assured that the payment of the wage award would take effect on Wednesday, also disclosed that the government would commence the distribution of grains as palliatives to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship in the country.
Bago also said that there will be feeding of people in various points of the wards during this Ramadan.
