Governor Bago Sacks Political Appointees

September 01, (THEWILL) — Niger State Governor, Umar Bago, has sacked all his commissioners, special advisers, and special assistants.

The governor, however, retained his secretary to the state government (SSG), chief of staff, deputy chief of staff, and other principal officers in his office.

A statement to this effect said the decision was taken during the state executive council meeting held on Monday, at the council chamber in Minna, the state capital.

“The farmer governor announced the decision during the State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber, Minna. He appreciated them for the services they had so far rendered towards the development of the state and wished them the best in their future endeavours”, the statement read in part.
