July 03, (THEWILL) – A Christian political organisation, the Door To Door Grassroot Christian Campaign for Atiku, has kicked off a door to door campaign in Cross River State.
The campaign is to sell the candidature of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as well as the party’s governorship flag bearer in Cross River, Professor Sandy Ojang Onor.
National Coordinator of the organisation, Bishop Stanley Joseph, disclosed this in Calabar, while inaugurating the state and local government executives of the organisation.
He said Nigeria has come to the crossroads and they are campaigning for Atiku because the “APC took Nigeria to Egypt, but Atiku will bring Nigeria to the promised land.”
“Nigeria has come to another cross road again, looking for a leader that will take her to her promised land.
“APC took us back to Egypt, God in his infinite mercy, has heard the cry of his people and has decided to bring His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to take us to the promised land.
“If not for the demise of Former President Yar’Adua, by now Nigeria would have been like Dubai.
“Permit to say that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is coming in the spirit of Yar ‘Adua, he will take us to the promised land”, Bishop Joseph said.
He said as a Bishop, he is involved in politics because he has “an Ecclesiastical and political mandate.”
He added that they are burdened to do a Door 2 Door campaign for His Excellency, Alhaji ATIKU Abubakar and he is here to kick the ball rolling and kick start this great organisation in Cross Rivers state.
He charged all meaningful Cross Riverians to join this train and deliver Atiku come 2023.
He also expressed confidence in the leadership of Dr Iwara and his Excos and all the LGA Coordinators.
In his response, Dr Iwara Okoi, the State Coordinator of the organisation, pledged to do his best to move the body forward.
He said the organisation will hit the ground running and as evangelists, will evangelise the programmes of Atiku Abubakar and Professor Sandy Ojang Onor.
Other members of the state executive are Sir Moses Odido, Mr Otu Ekpenyong Effiom, Mr Benedict Ojong Agbor, Mr Abua Emmanuel Ungwugwaye and Ms Esther Imo.
Sixteen local government coordinators were also inaugurated to take charge of the organisation in their respective LGAs.
