May 11, (THEWILL) — Following its return to profitability after years of financial pressure, Guinness Nigeria Plc is now focused on sustaining growth through operational efficiency, localised decision-making, and consumer-driven innovation.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Guinness Nigeria Plc, Mr. Girish Sharma, disclosed this during a recent media chat, where he expressed confidence in the brewer’s long-term recovery strategy.

According to Sharma, the company’s improved performance was driven by a deliberate restructuring process implemented over the past year to improve efficiency, expand market reach, and empower local teams.

“We grew distribution, became far more efficient, and made our people more agile because decision-making was brought down to Nigeria,” he said.

“While the 144 percent revenue growth may not be repeated, we still expect to maintain at least double-digit growth going forward.”

Sharma explained that the company’s turnaround strategy was built on four key pillars culture, operational excellence, consumer focus, and financial performance.

He noted that Guinness Nigeria prioritised empowering employees, localising operations for greater efficiency, and placing consumers at the centre of its strategy through product innovation and portfolio adjustments.

As part of this approach, the brewer introduced products tailored to changing consumer spending patterns, including the launch of Orijin Beer in PET format to offer more affordable options amid rising living costs.

Sharma said the company sees strong opportunities in ready-to-drink beverages, mainstream spirits, beer, and malt drinks as consumer preferences continue to evolve.

Looking ahead, Guinness Nigeria plans to deepen distribution, maintain financial discipline, and continue investing in innovation across both premium and value segments.

The brewer returned to profitability in 2025, posting a profit after tax of N41.2 billion and revenue growth of 144 percent to N730.8 billion, supported by improved operational performance and reduced finance costs.
