SAN FRANCISCO, October 11, (THEWILL) – Gunmen on Saturday evening abducted a former vice- chairman, Mohammed Baba along with some legislative members of Kuje Area Council of Abuja.
Several other persons were also abducted in another attack on the community.
In a statement on Sunday, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Command, ASP Yusuf Mariam said “effort is being made to rescue the kidnapped persons.”
THEWILL gathered that Mohammed and the legislative members were ambushed along the Pegi route. The gunmen hijacked a bus the victims were in and got away with all its occupants through the bushes in the area.
A statement by the Minister of State in the FCT, Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu assured residents that the FCT administration would take drastic measures to address the situation. She appealed to residents to remain calm
Just three week ago, some gunmen invaded the Tunga Maje Community and abducted five persons.
The Minister has however reiterated the commitment of the FCT administration to secure lives and property of the people.
