
July 30, (THEWILL) – A former member of the House of Representatives and former Mayor of Asaba, Joan Mrakpor, has been abducted by gunmen.
THEWILL reports that the former lawmaker, who represented Aniocha/Oshimili Federal constituency, Delta State, was abducted in her Church, located off Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) in Asaba at about 5pm on Tuesday.
Sources told THEWILL that her abductors killed three police officers and burnt her car. She was said to have been whisked away to the Water Side.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
Mrakpor, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, is the immediate past Commissioner for Technical Education in the State.
