June 16, (THEWILL) – Gunmen suspected to be herders, on Sunday night, attacked Tse Yange, a Tiv community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing the village head and abducting several residents.
Although THEWILL cannot immediately confirm the exact number of abducted and injured victims, the gunmen, who arrived on motorbikes, reportedly killed the village head, injured many residents and abducted several others during the violent raid.
Authorities in the State, including the Benue Police Command, have not issued any statement on the incident.
However, a local source said the assault continued into the early hours of Monday, leaving many residents injured and forcing others to flee their homes.
