BEVERLY HILLS, September 30, (THEWILL) – The Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, and Assembly of Healthcare Professionals on Saturday suspended its nine-day-old nationwide strike in principle.
The suspension followed a nine-hour conciliation meeting between its leadership and representatives of the Federal Government in Abuja.
National chairman of the union, Biobelemoye Josiah, who made this known to newsmen, said a National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the union will be held on Tuesday to take the final decision.
He however stated that the union has reached an agreement with the Federal government, directing workers to resume work on Wednesday.
THEWILL recalls that JOHESU embarked on the strike on September 20 to protest among other issues, salaries adjustments, promotion arrears, and improved work environment for its members.
