October 26, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has detailed how she met and started her romantic relationship with entertainment entrepreneur, Paul Okoye, aka Paul O.
She revealed that she was initially reluctant about the relationship due to Paul O’s affiliations in the entertainment industry.
The actress said she was concerned about her story being constantly in the public eye if she fell in love with someone in showbiz.
The 45-year-old said she, however, agreed to date Paul O after making inquiries from her colleagues and was sure of his marital status.
“Everything I said that I would never do, he has changed the narrative. No one has ever slid to my direct message and I was not going to give the slightest attention, and I never knew him,” she said.
“And when his message popped up, I was like, who is this one? I went on his page to check him out. I checked his videos and noticed his page was verified, and I was sure he was not all these fraudsters.
“I noticed he knows many of these musicians, and I was like I do not want anybody in the entertainment industry.
“My story will be out every blessed day, Oh my God, I no dey do. So that was like a no-no-no for me, but I felt like, let me respond, someone like this, you just keep them in one corner as a friend.
“I told him that I was in a relationship and I was not even interested in dating him, and he asked, ‘Why do you not want to date me?’, and I answered, ‘Because you are a married man’, and he said ‘I am not married’. And I just kept asking questions about him, and I asked everybody I know would know him.”
On the occasion of her 45th birthday, Iyabo unveiled the entertainment promoter as her lover.
In February, the lovebirds revealed their relationship is for enjoyment.
