October 6, (THEWILL) – Former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has debunked reports of his alleged appointment as the Coordinator of the Presidential campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the southeast.
His Media aide, Chibuike Onyeukwu, made the disclosure in a terse statement issued on Wednesday, following congratulatory messages across social media handles in the state.
He said, “His Excellency, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, is certainly not the Coordinator of the Southeast.
“Ihedioha was only asked to speak for the South East at the inaugural meeting of the PDP presidential campaign Council which was held few days ago in Abuja.
“His interest, attention and focus is to put Imo PDP together with a view to harnessing its resources for the upcoming elections.”
He called on people to ignore any purported report of such appointment.
