Dumebi Kachikwu

June 10, (THEWILL) – A businessman and activist, Dumebi Kachikwu, has emerged the winner of of the presidential primary election on the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC), ahead the 2023 general elections.

This was just as he promised to save the country from the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hardship, should he become the next president.

The election was held on Wednesday night, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Kachikwu, with 978 votes, beat his closest rival and the former deputy governor of central bank, Kingsley Moghalu, who polled 589 votes from the 2,040 delegates.

Speaking after clinching ADC presidential ticket, Kachikwu stated that he would run an all-inclusive government, and attract the best brains in various spheres of human endeavours to make the country great again.

He also vowed to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Nigerians and twenty areas of the country, if elected the next president.

According to him, he was on a rescue mission to salvage Nigerians from the hardship occasioned by APC, PDP misrule over the past years, as he plans to initiate wide-ranging public service reforms to eradicate corruption and fight war against terrorism.

The delta state born politician, noted that he would create equal opportunities for men and women and an improved welfare package for teachers, as well as initiating a technology-driven education and healthcare system to stop medical and education tourism abroad.

He said, I will secure Nigeria and the lives and properties of Nigerians in the North, South, East and West of our country, if I emerge in 2023.”

The business man pledged to eliminate corruption by ensuring that Nigerian workers were paid better salaries and build modern cities with decent amenities, world-class health facilities, and accessible and affordable internet services across the country.

The Convention Committee chairman, Rtd. Major-General Ekundayo Opaleye, who announced the result, enjoined all other aspirants to work in harmony with the elected candidate.

Maj. Gen. Opaleye said the party is set to reengineer the political party system that is free of domination by money bags and godfathers, through transparency and accountability as well as propagate inclusion and diversity of values for women, youths, diaspora network and Persons with disabilities.
