February 27, (THEWILL) – The impeached Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has arrived at the complex.
According to Punch, Obasa, accompanied by security operatives, arrived at the complex at about 12 noon, and headed straight to the Speaker’s Office amidst reports of the withdrawal of all security details attached to the new speaker, Mojisola Meranda, on Thursday.
Meranda emerged first female speaker of the Lagos legislature on January 13, 2025, following the impeachment of Obasa. However, Obasa has challenged the legitimacy of his removal, insisting due process was not followed and maintaining that he remained the rightful speaker.
Earlier, Meranda’s Special Adviser on Information, Victor Ganzallo, warned that the Speaker is now “vulnerable and open to attack”.
